Impact of Climate Policies on The Hajj

Human-induced climate change puts the Muslim pilgrimage at risk. Referring to current data, the global average temperature has increased by 1.2°C due to human activities mainly from burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and unsustainable agricultural practices.

 

A report by the Centre for Islamic Studies of the National University (PPI UNAS) titled "The Impact of Climate Policy on Hajj" reveals that the threat of rising global temperatures and extreme weather will be very dangerous for pilgrims in the holy land. High temperatures, when combined with humid air, can be very dangerous. Read the full report!
