Public Perception of PLTU Early Retirement Policy

Yayasan Indonesia CERAH and the Institute for Policy and Development (Poldev) Unitrend, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) launched our latest report titled "Public Perceptions of the Early Retirement Policy of Coal-fired Power Plants in the Energy Transition." To better understand the opinions of the local community around coal-fired power plants regarding the planned early retirement by the Government through the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

 

The study was conducted in three regions: PLTU Cirebon-1, PLTU Pacitan, and PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu. The study's findings indicate that 85% of the population residing in the vicinity of coal-fired power plants in these three regions do not rely on their income from coal-fired power plant activities.
