Assessing Hydrogen: From Green Claims to Water Availability

Green hydrogen is showing a significant development trend globally with more than 30 countries committing to it as a strategy to achieve emission targets. Following this development, the Indonesian government plans to do the same in order to pursue the 2060 decarbonisation target.

 

The main question is: is it right to make green hydrogen one of the steps towards decarbonisation in Indonesia? This literature review by Yayasan Indonesia CERAH found a number of crucial things that must be considered ranging from green hydrogen production, water availability issues, to transport and storage.
