The majority of the public is still confused about the definition of energy transition, and even the term “decarbonization” has not yet taken root and has a very low search volume. According to CERAH's analysis of the digital landscape of Indonesian society, civil society organizations (CSOs) need to follow trends in public search patterns to ensure that the issue of climate justice does not only become the preserve of the elite.
The report Reading the Digital Landscape: The Dynamics of Energy Transition and Climate Crisis Narratives in Indonesia in 2025 summarizes the dynamics of the energy discourse in Indonesia throughout 2025. Through social listening analysis and audience search patterns, this report identifies a critical gap between the government's policy ambitions and public understanding and concerns at the grassroots level.
