The energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources is one of the strategic challenges facing Indonesia in the next few decades. Although the government has announced a commitment to decarbonization and increased use of clean energy, public understanding and participation in this process is still very limited. Especially among urban communities with middle to lower economic backgrounds, the issue of energy transition has not yet become a major discussion, either in daily life or in public discourse.
Yayasan Indonesia CERAH realizes that the success of a just and inclusive energy transition is highly dependent on the active involvement of the community. Therefore, this report was prepared to deeply explore the understanding, attitudes, and information needs of three main audience groups: urban housewives, informal sector daily workers, and young people graduating from elementary to high school. This report serves as an important foundation in designing a strategic and data-driven digital campaign.
