Point 6 of the Joint Statement Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) document between the Indonesian government, International Partners Group (IPG), and other international partners, states "Recognizing the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance standards as a consideration for developing transition financial frameworks and the existing gap between current standards and energy transition needs."
This raises the question, does the current regulation in Indonesia meet international standards? Especially in anticipating the impact of the energy transition on the labor sector and affected communities? Yayasan Indonesia CERAH and the Center for Legal & Policy Studies (PSHK) conducted research that focuses on answering this question, and provides recommendations for steps that the government should take.
