As the 2024 General Election approaches, the public will increasingly pay attention to and study the visions, missions and ideas carried by the Presidential Candidates (Capres) and Vice Presidential Candidates (Cawapres), including those related to the issue of climate crisis and energy transition. In our quick reading, the three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates seem to have started talking about these two issues, along with the increasing conversation of public attention to climate issues and energy transition.
Yayasan Indonesia Cerah in collaboration with Markdata conducted research by collecting conversation data in the media and social media which resulted in a big data analysis of the presidential and vice presidential track records related to the issue of climate crisis and energy transition in the period October 25, 2022-25 October 2023. This track record is expected to be a guideline for prospective voters, especially young people, so that they can make their choices wisely.
